My Story: A Lifelong Passion for Education
Growing up as a Multilingual Learner, I experienced firsthand the challenges of navigating a new language while keeping up academically. I know what it feels like to struggle with reading, writing, and comprehension while trying to succeed. That journey shaped my passion for bilingual education and my commitment to helping students and families who face similar challenges.
Education has been my calling for over two decades. I began my career in 2002, earning a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from USC and becoming National Board Certified in Early Literacy. Over the years, I've served as an elementary teacher, English Language Development (ELD) Intervention Specialist, Language Arts Specialist, School Administrator, and Dual Language Consultant -- each role deepening my passion for helping students succeed.
When I became a mother, I made the decision to step away from the workforce to care for my son, knowing firsthand the importance of early childhood education (0-3 years). Now, as a homeschooling mother of two sons, I've merged my professional expertise with my personal experience, creating a home learning environment that is both enriching and effective.
Although I left the traditional classroom, my passion for education never left. I've seen the challenges families face in homeschooling and as part of a school district --finding the right curriculum, supporting struggling learners, and meeting the unique needs of bilingual and Multilingual Learners. That is why I'm here -- to share my knowledge, provide guidance, and empower families to create meaningful and successful learning experiences.
I believe every child deserves an education tailored to their strengths, and every parent deserves the support to make that happen.
